This premium was issued in 1951 by the Wheaties cereal company as part of a small promotional baseball set. It was not widely received which results in some difficulty for collectors looking to acquire an example today. This Mickey Mantle example is the key premium in the set and also represents a rookie-year collectible of Mantle. The only other issue featuring Mantle in 1951 was the popular Bowman set. This Wheaties Premium represents a great opportunity to acquire a tougher rookie-year piece of Mantle.
