Apollo mission collection including moonwalker autograph: This lot consists of three items, a first day cover illustration of the Apollo 11 crew with the Moon Landing postmark of July 20, 1969 and a September 9, 1969 First Man On The Moon stamp and postmark; a 1969 “Man On The Moon” collectors book; and a 1972 cachet postmarked on the USS Ticonderoga, the naval vessel that recovered the Apollo 17 astronauts, signed by Gene Cernan and Ron Evans, with full JSA LOA. Cernan was the Pilot of Gemini IX, the Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 10, and the Commander of Apollo 17. After flying to the moon twice, he was also the second American to walk in space and the last of 12 humans to have walked on the lunar surface. Evans was the command module pilot for Apollo 17 and one of only 24 humans to orbit the moon.
