1950 R423 Strips Lot of (2) W/ Joe DiMaggio, Mathewson & Cobb

Lot includes two strips of (13) cards one strip is highlighted by Snider, Vance and Reese.  

The second strip is loaded with big HOFers including:  Joe DiMiggio, Feller, Simmons, Sisler, Mathewson, Speaker, Dickey, and Ty Cobb.

Both strips are crease free with little to no corner wear.

Each black-and-white card measures a tiny 5/8” x3/4” and were printed on thin cardstock. The front side features a posed or in-action image of a Big League player with his name appearing at the bottom border. A blank border frames every image, while the card backs bear a simplistic drawing of a baseball field. Card backs are known to exist in one of four different colors: red, blue, green, or purple. The collection was originally issued rolled on long horizontal strips consisting of 13 separate cards, with each piece connected by a perforation, and available via gumball or novelty vending machines. The R423 set features a wealth of Hall of Fame talent including Ty Cobb, Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, Babe Ruth, Christy Mathewson, Stan Musial, Tris Speaker, and Ted Williams.
